Happy Thursday! Here are a few fun happenings we’re looking forward to this weekend and beyond:
Friday night, Wenatchee Parks and Rec presents a free, family-friendly evening of music at Centennial Park. (Right behind the park, the Wenatchee Valley Museum is hosting a beer garden!)
Family Game Night returns to Pybus on Friday.
There will be a Ladies Night/Little Black Dress Party to benefit Alatheia on Friday.
The Applesox are home this Saturday, Sunday and Monday nights.
On Wednesday, celebrate Harry Potter’s birthday at Pybus! Enjoy crafts, games, refreshments, and take your picture with Dobby. Costumes are encouraged!
Tickets are still available for Leavenworth Summer Theater’s season of shows: “The Sound of Music,” “Pirates of Penzance” and “Hello, Dolly!”
The Wenatchee City Pool is open for the season.
Did you know you can check out FREE passes to Ohme Gardens from Wenatchee Public Library? Really!
Next Friday, August 2, head to downtown Wenatchee for the annual Summer Sidewalk Sale. Big savings and a lot of fun.
The CVCH Back-to-School Health Fair is coming up next Saturday, August 3 from 8-11 a.m. in the parking lot of the CVCH Wenatchee clinic, located at 600 Orondo Ave.The event’s sponsors will provide 1,000 free backpacks to students entering grades K–12, along with school supplies, interactive games, community resources and education about CVCH programs.
August 6 is National Night Out. Join your local law enforcement and first responders at Eastmont Community Park in East Wenatchee to learn about safety and crime prevention. There will be FREE food and refreshments, entertainment, emergency vehicles and lots of fun interaction with your neighborhood officers!
On August 9, Ohme Gardens is hosting an outdoors screening of “How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World.”
On August 16, Chelan-Douglas CASA and Numerica will host a free screening of “Matilda” at the Rocky Reach Dam Visitor Center. Bring lawn chairs, a blanket, or sleeping bag. Concessions will be available for purchase.
The Leavenworth Community Farmers Market is open every Thursday.
The Wenatchee Valley Farmers Market is open Saturdays and Wednesdays at Pybus Public Market. (This Saturday the market is celebrating its 40th anniversary!)
The Chelan Farmers Market happens on Thursdays.
Story times for children of all ages at the Wenatchee Public Library.
Get the whole family moving with Kids Yoga classes.
Catholic Family and Child Service hosts several play-and-learn events each week for children up to age 5 and their caregivers. The Kaleidoscope Play and Learn group meets Wednesdays at the First Methodist Church at 10 a.m., Thursdays at the Wenatchee Public Library at 10 a.m., and Fridays at the Hope Center at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. The play sessions are free and no registration is required. The Wenatchee Mother-Baby Support Group at the Wenatchee Public Library meets from 1-2:30 p.m. Mondays.
Indoor Park Play Time at Apple Valley Gymnastics, 9:30-11 a.m. Mondays and 8:30-10 a.m. Saturdays.
For kids 6 and younger, head to the play gym at Sport Gymnastics, open Tuesdays through Saturdays.
You’ll find a hands-on children’s activity and craft room upstairs at the Wenatchee Valley Museum & Cultural Center. Kids and their grown-ups get in free and it’s open during regular museum hours.
The Wenatchee Valley Mall Kids Club gets together for adventures the third Saturday of every month.
Bring the whole family out for RunWenatchee’s club run/walks on the Loop Trail every Thursday evening.
