What’s everybody up to this weekend? Need a few suggestions? Read on for a list of fun and festive local events:
The Numerica Wings ‘N Wishes Christmas Tree Lighting begins at 6 p.m. TODAY. There will be live reindeer, Christmas caroling, cookies, cocoa and, of course, Santa!
The Leavenworth Christmas Lighting Festival happens again this weekend and next.
On Friday, SPORT GYMNASTICS is hosting a Parents’ Night Out from 6-10 p.m. It’s for kids ages 4-10.
Also Friday night, the Wenatchee Wild are home at the Town Toyota Center.
This Friday and Saturday at Icicle Creek Center for the Arts, celebrate the Christmas season with traditional Celtic song and dance.
The Wenatchee Valley Symphony Orchestra will once again join with the Fabulous Feet Academy of Ballet to present “The Nutcracker,” at the Numerica PAC on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Santa will be hanging out in downtown Wenatchee on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Santa will arrive at the Convention Center at 10 a.m. and will take photos with kids for the next hour. Then, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. there will be photos, pizza and crafts with Santa. During the final hour from 2-3 p.m. we will offer pictures only.
Or catch up with Santa at Pybus Market. He’ll be there Saturdays and Sundays through Dec. 22, as well as an appearance on Friday, Dec. 21.
Santa is also available for pictures at the Wenatchee Valley Mall this month.
On Saturday, stop by the LocalTel Event Room at Pybus for a FREE morning of family-friendly activities, hosted by Sage Hills Church.
FREE holiday movies on Saturdays in December at the Ruby Theatre in Chelan. This Saturday, it’s “How the Grinch Stole Christmas.” On Dec.15, it’s “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.” On Dec. 22, it’s “The Polar Express.”
On Sunday, bring the kids to Pybus for a gingerbread house factory.
Celebrate a Small Town Christmas in Chelan, with festive events happening all December long.

Bring the kids for Breakfast With Santa at the Wenatchee Valley Mall on Dec. 15.
WHS DECA is hosting a Father-Daughter Dance on Dec. 15.
“It’s A Wonderful Life” is playing on the big screen at the Numerica PAC on Dec. 16. Then, twice on Dec. 17, the PAC is screening “The Muppet Christmas Carol.”
On Dec. 21 on the PAC stage, it’s the “Old Time Radio Show.”
The indoor playground at Pybus is open for the season. It’s a warm place full of toys for toddlers to play with during the cold months. With a few exceptions, the play area will be open Monday-Thursday from 9 a.m.-noon each week through March.
Story times for children of all ages at the Wenatchee Public Library.
The Wenatchee YMCA offers Toddler Time Thursdays, open gym for little ones every Thursdays from 10:30-11:30 a.m.
The Wenatchee YMCA offers Parent/Tot Water Fitness classes every Friday at noon.
Get the whole family moving with Kids Yoga classes.
Catholic Family and Child Service hosts several play-and-learn events each week for children up to age 5 and their caregivers. The Kaleidoscope Play and Learn group meets Wednesdays at the First Methodist Church at 10 a.m., Thursdays at the Wenatchee Public Library at 10 a.m., and Fridays at the Hope Center at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. The play sessions are free and no registration is required. The Wenatchee Mother-Baby Support Group at the Wenatchee Public Library meets from 1-2:30 p.m. Mondays.
Indoor Park Play Time at Apple Valley Gymnastics, 9:30-11 a.m. Mondays and 8:30-10 a.m. Saturdays.
For kids 6 and younger, head to the play gym at Sport Gymnastics, open Tuesdays through Saturdays.
You’ll find a hands-on children’s activity and craft room upstairs at the Wenatchee Valley Museum & Cultural Center. Kids and their grown-ups get in free and it’s open during regular museum hours.
The Wenatchee Valley Mall Kids Club gets together for adventures the third Saturday of every month.
Bring the whole family out for RunWenatchee’s club run/walks on the Loop Trail every Thursday evening.
