Perhaps your family is starting to look forward to the holiday season! For many of us, this can be the “most wonderful time of the year,” as we celebrate family and friends and blessings. We embrace family traditions and cherish the joys of special moments spent together.
The holidays can be a reminder, though, of people who are no longer with us. For people who are grieving the loss of a loved one, the holidays can be a deeply painful time of remembering and missing the person we lost. That grief can be particularly intense and overwhelming when the person we’ve lost is a baby, or a child.
Confluence Health offers an annual Christmas tradition for families who wish to honor and celebrate the life of a little one who is no longer here. Perhaps it was a pregnancy that ended too soon in miscarriage or stillbirth. Perhaps it was a newborn baby who passed away unexpectedly, or after an illness. Any way we come to this level of grief, the universal message is the same: this is hard; unbearably hard. It can sometimes be helpful to acknowledge the pain and commemorate the life that is gone, especially with people who understand.
We respectfully invite you to join us for the annual Christmas tree lighting service designed to honor your baby.
When someone comes into our lives,
and they are too quickly and quietly gone,
they leave footprints on our hearts,
and their memory stays with us forever.
