International Women’s Day came and went, and ever since then I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it. So many different views and opinions. Some I agree with, and some I don’t. But it left me with an ongoing conversation in my head.

The strength of a woman.

Whether you are an adolescent, in the trenches of motherhood, at the end of your years, child bearing, wish you could be child bearing, married or not, stay-at-home mom or business woman — we all wear oh so many hats. Some of us are chasing dreams. Some of us are helping others chase their dreams. Some of us are still dreaming of what we want to be. I read a quote that really stuck with me:

“There is no limit to your potential. If you will take control of your lives, the future is filled with opportunity and gladness. You cannot afford to waste your talents or your time. Great opportunities lie ahead of you…The world needs the touch of women and their love, their comfort, and their strength. Our harsh environment needs their encouraging voices, the beauty that seems to fall within their natures, the spirit of charity that is their inheritance.” — Gordon B. Hinckley

Women are strong. We have divine characteristics that the world needs. Be a friend. Listen to others. Look for ways to meaningfully serve. Share your time and your talents. Give strength and encouragement. Let your heart lead the way, and it won’t steer you wrong.

The world needs us!
