I want to share a book with you in case you might be up for a really affirming read: The Book of Joy, by His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, and Douglas Abrams.

I am a co-founder of Joyful Scholars Montessori Elementary in Wenatchee. At the core of our little school’s mission is JOY. And by nature, Montessori schools encourage dialogue and friendship across linguistic, cultural, and religious barriers. So when I saw this collaborative work with two of my favorite spiritual leaders and an American author outlining their conversation, I knew it was for me! It reminds me that a heart filled with joy is universally available to all, regardless of who we are and where we’ve been.

Another bonus: the lovely photographs of these two men laughing, embracing, goofing off, and sharing love with one another…your children might get a kick out of the picture of the Dalai Lama making a smoochy face!

I would absolutely love it if you read it and let me know what you think! Here’s a link to purchase the book. (If you use SMILE.amazon.com, our school gets a little kick-back. Just be sure you have Smile set to donate to Saddlerock Education Association.)

Much love and joy,
