The dog days of summer are upon us. Avoid cabin fever and get out and do something fun. We have a few suggestions:
A private screening of “Bad Moms” at Gateway Cinemas is coming up tomorrow (Friday) night. Gift baskets, prizes and more. How fun! (The movie plays lots of other days and times, too.)

The Friends of the Peshastin Library are holding their annual fundraising ice cream social at the library on Saturday. (From the library: The event, from 7 to 9 p.m., will feature music by Campbell Road, a local band playing traditional Irish and Scottish tunes, all well as an inflatable play structure, fire truck rides, and carnival-style games. All of the games will cost 50 cents to $1 and ice cream will be $1. Used books, cakes and pies will also be offered for sale. The library is located at 8396 Main St. in downtown Peshastin.)
The library’s bookmobile is parked at Pybus on Saturdays.
Cascade Farmlands’ GeoRomp kicks off Saturday morning. Sounds like an adventure.

The Unitarian Church in East Wenatchee is hosting a family movie night on Saturday. It’s a fundraiser for the Wenatchee Valley Renaissance Faire.
Riverwalk Books in Chelan is hosting a Harry Potter release party Sunday morning. Can’t make it to Chelan? The Wenatchee Public Library is hosting a Harry Potter Party on Sunday, as well. Come dressed in costume to celebrate the release of “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.”
Bring the kids back to the Wenatchee library on Tuesday for a puppet show.
